Dakota Breeze Roatan

Been on Royal Caribbean cruises and an all inclusive resort in Cancun. Wanted something mid island because we rented a car. Dakota Breeze was upscale and accommodating. We chose to have Burlee cater the first day we arrived since we knew nothing about Roatan. Fantastic! The decor was exceptional, the security was available and walked the property often. We had to get used to it but it made us feel safe. Every touch in this house was well thought out. They have a take one leave one counter in the master. It was lovely, we got to see so many brands of bug spray and sunscreen. I didn't see the coffee we were supposed to get and they drove by and dropped it off and left extra paper towels and trash bags as well. Excellent communication!!! Thanks for making our first real international trip legit.

Nice place

Amazing stay! All around, wonderful place! The hosts were extremely helpful, met us at the airport, took us to the grocery store, and were available anytime we had questions. The place is exquisitely decorated, has everything you need in the kitchen, and has an amazing dock to watch sunsets. You definitely need a car. There are several great restaurants 10 min away, or have them cook for you at the house. We drove to Camp Bay beach one day, beautiful! We stayed in West End the second half of our trip. We regretted not staying at Dakota Breeze longer. It's a special place!

The owners of this place outdid themselves with this beautiful ocean side house! Beautiful scenery, friendly neighbors, and plenty to do right around the house, let alone the rest of the island.nnSecond day we went out on the neighbor Scott’s boat and he took my wife and a Minnesota mom and her son to a couple great snorkel spots then ate at one of the resorts. I stayed on the boat with Jerri who also does some of the beach maintenance for the surrounding properties (very nice guy and plenty of suggestions on things to do, just chat with him!)nnNext couple days we stayed around the house and snorkeled the ocean near the property. Saw some cool fish, birds, snails, hermit crabs, some washed up coral from the nearby reef, and a couple starfish. We also used one of the kayaks and went through a mangrove tunnel nearby as well as snorkeled a couple of the nearby sandbars. Got to see a live conch!nnWe ate at Kristi’s Overlook (Tex-Mex) one of the days, which was delicious. Visited the local grocery store, Eldon’s, (very American style) another day to pickup more food to cook at the house. Reasonable prices for most of the food and products.nnFriday was a no cruise day, so we explored West End and the touristy shops there. Ate at Happy Harry’s HideAway which my wife had their King Crab and I had Conch, both were delicious. The server even used a meat tenderizer and cracked the shells for my wife so she could enjoy the crab without the work.nnSaturday we said our goodbyes to the people we met, and sadly went from “feels like 80F” back to “feels like -24F”. Wish we could have stayed longer!nnIf you’re looking to disconnect, relax, and do things on your own “island time”, HIGHLY recommend checking out renting the property and visiting Roatan!
