Blue Bahia Resort

Blue Bahia feels like family. We quickly learned every staff member’s name, and they made us feel at home. Becca set up a WhatsApp group chat for my wife and I with all the staff a few days before we arrived, so communication was great -- we had a few questions and were always answered immediately. The daily message she sent with restaurant specials and entertainment of the day, Roatan history tidbits and a run down of what was happening nearby (including other restaurants’ specials) were very helpful.nnOur room, The Wave, was very spacious - 1BR/Bath with a full kitchen. AC units in both the living room and bedroom topped it off for a cool night’s sleep. Being on the smaller side of a resort it never felt crowded and there was always someone there to help.nnWe had a rental car for a portion of the trip, there is plenty of free parking. We could have easily done without and just utilized local cabs. West End and West Bay are short drives and very reasonable. This is a great spot to venture out from as there is a lot nearby including gardens, the nature parks with monkeys and sloths, and dolphins. An added benefit to the location is you can avoid the cruise ship traffic.nnThe beach is a nice, soft sand and there are reclining chairs available that we made great use of. Paddle boards and kayaks are also available for free. The reef is only 100 – 150 yards out so a pretty easy swim for good snorkeling. Or you can kayak out and tie off on a buoy. The pool was always clean and cool.nnThank you to everyone -- Jojo, Johnny, Cesar, Jessie, Jericho, Selema, Carlos, Becca, Kim, and Josh. (I know I forgot someone.) You made us feel welcome and at home.nnThings to know but completely out of their control: it is a public beach with a light amount of auto traffic. The sand on the beach is nice but a few yards into the ocean it turns into a fine silt and sea grass. This is due to federal regulations on conserved land – you can’t “mow the grass”.

Blue Bahia is located in Sandy Bay away from all the cruise ship traffic bit still a quick ride to all the restaurants and bars of West End and West Bay. They have clean comfortable rooms with kitchenettes as well as an on site restaurant/bar with specials throughout the week.nThere is also a fantastic dive shop, Sandy Bay Divers, on site.nYou will come as a guest and leave feeling like you're part of the family. I can not say enough good things about Blue Bahia and everyone that works there.

GREAT Staff, wonderful restaurant, peaceful place on the water. If you scuba dive this is a great place away from hussle and bustle of west bay, west end. Many local local restaurants nearby with great service and great quality. The unit we stayed in 2br, large kitchen ate and deck. Super helpful, informative and communicative staff at the resort. Need anything, just ask. The restaurant even brought our lunch up to the room one day...just a positive and exceptional experience.

This was my second stay at this hotel, and I fully intend to return again. The rooms were comfortable and well-equipped, the restaurant served excellent food, and the staff were welcoming and professional. The location was perfect for my needs, with the added bonus of having an outstanding dive shop right on the property (Sandy Bay Divers).

We visited the Blue Bahia resort and everything was amazing! The atmosphere, the workers, the food, the pool, the view, etc. We will definitely go back there. I highly recommend this resort for an amazing relaxing vacation!
