Barefoot Cay Resort

A wonderful experience! If you're looking for a quiet resort where you can relax and be treated like family by the staff, this is the one! The property is excellently maintained. The restaurant is delicious - some of the best food I've had while traveling. As a discerning traveler, I would absolutely not hesitate to return. In fact, I am planning to return. Wonderful place!

The resort is located on a tiny island on the south side of Roatán, far away from the crowded tourist areas and noisy crowds. A 24/7 water shuttle runs between the reception and the resort.nThe property has several oceanfront villas (ours had its own cozy little beach) and a few rooms in the building where the office and reception are located. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, and the staff is polite, friendly, and always available.nWe stayed in a two-bedroom villa with a sea view - perfectly clean, comfortable beds, air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, and daily housekeeping.nThe resort also has a restaurant, one of the best on Roatán - people come here especially for dinner. There’s also a dive club with several boats and its own house reef - everything is super convenient and well organized. Kayaks are available for rent as well.nThis resort is an amazing choice both for a peaceful beach getaway and for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts. Perfect for a family vacation or a romantic escape.

A Tropical Slice of ParadisenThis resort is a truly magnificent escape located on a small, private island that feels like a genuine tropical heaven. The atmosphere is defined by lush, vibrant greenery and the delightful sounds of singing birds, creating an immersive experience filled with incredible natural scents. The accommodations are impressive—the villas are large, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully equipped with every modern convenience, including surprisingly fast internet. Throughout our stay, the service was consistently attentive and professional, making us feel well-cared for at every turn.nFor those who love the ocean, the scuba diving center is exceptionally professional and offers world-class service. While the island’s coral atoll nature means the beach isn't suited for traditional swimming, the snorkeling and kayaking directly from the shore are spectacular. Between adventures, the restaurant serves a fantastic menu with truly delicious dishes that make dining a highlight of the day.nThe resort is definitely geared toward adults seeking peace and quiet. Because of its secluded location, there isn't much to see or do outside the property; even if you rent a car, there are few places to go. However, that is the beauty of this place. It is a destination designed for slowing down and savoring a wonderful time in a tiny, perfect piece of paradise.

The best place I’ve stayed in Roatan! A huge thank you to all the wonderful staff I had the please of meeting during my stay, you made me feel extra special with your fine service. O recommend this place to anyone who’s interested in a great place to eat, drink, rest and overall just have an amazing experience in the island.

We loved Barefoot! Our dive master was amazing. Food was great - regardless of our complex food allergies. We had the two bedroom beach condo that had a full kitchen - the local grocery was great - again no problem with the food allergies. Peaceful and amazing. Could not have been happier!
